Collage's attractive space may be rented for band or theater rehearsals, private recitals, corporate events, meetings, workshops, and private parties when not in use for our programs.
The space is versatile and can be used theater style, set with tables, or cleared for events where attendees are moving or dancing. A private prep or green room is available, there is a small bar area with three-compartment sink, and we have one ADA compliant restroom. Valet parking may be arranged with a local company if desired.
We have a laptop projector, projection screen, basic PA system, advanced audio system with sound board, and other equipment that is available for rent. Our experienced tech crew can arrange full recorded sound and video, livestreaming, and other services to make your event perfect.

Parking:
Collage is by the corner of Pacific Avenue and Eighth Street in San Pedro. There is metered parking on Pacific, inexpensive public parking lots behind the restaurants across the street from us, and also a lot on Seventh Street just a block away. Both the lots and street parking are free after 6 pm and all day on Sunday. There is also free parking down Eighth Street in both directions.
More Details About Our Space
Our ground level space was built in the 1930's and is attractive thanks to art deco tiling and other touches. Inside is more modern, but visually interesting thanks to aged brick walls, a curved wooden ceiling with open beams, and a changing display of contemporary and cultural art. The floor is level throughout and wheelchair-accessible.
The front of the room is bright and welcoming when the curtains are open, and a black box theater when they are drawn. It is equipped with two sets of lights — one that can be customer-controlled and can illuminate the space evenly or focus on the stage area, another set controlled by our tech crew from the upper deck. The space also is flexible in terms of sound. You may bring your own PA system, use our six-channel system with microphones and strands, or take advantage of our eighteen-channel system that can be controlled by our experienced sound crew. There is a modest rental and setup fee for the customer-controlled system — contact us for details. When the eighteen-channel system is controlled by our crew or an experienced professional, the sound quality is high enough to record videos and CD-quality albums. Please feel free to contact us for a tech sheet explaining our audio and video capabilities and prices. A baby grand piano in excellent tune is available for use, and can be pushed into the corner when not needed. Our space has a main room that seats 49, a kitchenette area with bar and small refrigerator, a prep room/dressing room with a full-size refrigerator, and an ADA compliant restroom. Any food service must be specifically authorized, and an additional cleaning deposit may apply. Alcoholic beverages may be available as part of an event but not be sold by the drink without a day license. If an event is held for charitable purposes, we may be able to help as an applicant, but this is on a case-by-case basis. Any claim regarding underage or otherwise illegal use of intoxicants is entirely the responsibility of the renter.
Our location is five minutes from the south end of the 110 Harbor Freeway, so is convenient for drivers, and has excellent transit access — the Silver Line express bus from Downtown LA stops only a block away. We are a short walking distance from restaurants serving Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Thai, and other cuisines. We have relationships with a valet parking company and several caterers, so can assist with arranging all elements of the guest experience.
