CALL FOR PLAY
SUBMISSIONS
Q: Does Collage or the Raked Stage own the rights to any submitted material?
A: No, the only right that is asserted is the right of first performance for selected scripts. All copyright and publication rights remain with the authors.
Q: Will the piece be performed exactly as written?
A: As the selected pieces are produced, minor dialog and blocking changes may be made at the discretion of the Director to improve the flow or staging. Any substantial changes will be subject to the approval of the author(s). We expect that the authors will be available to meet with the director and witness some rehearsals, and invite them to collaborate to refine the piece in the process. As such, please only submit if you are local enough to attend some rehearsals in the San Pedro and Harbor area.
Q: Any other restrictions in the staging?
A: The stage is carpeted, and there can be no scenes that require anything that might stain the carpet. Also, no use of glitter, confetti, or other substances that would be hard to clean up. The ceiling is about eight feet high, which should be kept in mind. The theater has adjustable colored lighting which allows blackouts, and a single follow spot.
